Ketika di tingkatan 4, saya dapati sastera antalogi Inggeris menengah atas sungguh menyedihkan. Hampir semua tidak menyeronokkan. Penuh dengan kisah tragis. Drover's wife, sound machine, dan Looking for a Rain God. Oh kenapa perlu begitu?
Saya larikan kesedihan itu dengan mencari kelainan. Saya singgah membaca buku-buku cerita Inggeris yang terdapat di perpustakaan sekolah. Begitu banyak cerita-cerita yang menaikkan kembali imaginasi Inggeris saya. Antaranya ialah set Laser Beams. Menarik!

Sungguh banyak buku siri laser beam.
Walaupun tak padang dengan umur aku ketika itu... namun ia tetap menghiburkan.
Cuma tak lah semua aku ingat tajuknya...

Yeap I agree, most literature reading materials during our time revolves around sad stories of the Western community. I myself cannot relate some of the stories to myself, hence the inability to digest them :(
The sadness.. oh why? But then how you will teach your students then if you are unable to comprehend the book totally?

I love the green gables series and collected the complete set at home. Though it is categorized under young readers but I feel it’s a great book for all ages. It's very well written, and you can't help but fall in love with the lead character. As a child, I guess I missed reading this book. It is a wonderful book and I think it should be in our school lessons. (GR):)
